Portrait (s), an exploration of exploitation and repair

Portrait(s), an exploration of exploitation and repair, looks at the exploitative nature of the art space for black artist as well as the internal & external repair needed to participate in these spaces. These 6x8 foot light sensitive sculptures, are photographed as individual portraits, to talk about the erasure of personhood and the abstracted view of who a black person is. These sculptures are fragile constantly decaying and in need of repair, having their own live cycles that through its participation in these spaces becomes weaker.
